Manx Credit Union runs on volunteers.
Apart from a small operational team, every role at MCU is filled by an unpaid volunteer who believes in fair finance for the Island. If you have a few hours a month and want to help your neighbours, we'd love to hear from you.
Counter volunteer
Saturday-morning shifts at the office helping members deposit, withdraw and ask questions. Friendly face, basic numeracy, kind manner.
Financial literacy speaker
Share what credit unions are with schools, community groups and workplaces. We provide the slides; you bring the warmth.
Events & outreach helper
Help us run our stand at TT festival, Royal Manx Show, and other Island events. Hand out leaflets, sign up new members on the day.
Board director
All MCU directors are unpaid volunteers elected by members at the AGM. We look for people with finance, governance or compliance experience.
We're grateful — and we say so properly.
Volunteering with MCU isn't a CV-line favour. It's a genuine community role, and we treat our volunteers as full members of the team.
- 01Training that's actually useful.
Customer-facing volunteers get basic AML / KYC training. Board volunteers can claim CPD hours on the work.
- 02Real responsibility.
You're not handing out leaflets. You're running real member interactions, with the full team behind you.
- 03A community of like-minded Manx folks.
MCU volunteers are some of the most quietly proud Manx people you'll meet. The Saturday brew counts.
Drop us a line and we'll arrange a chat.
Tell us a bit about you, which role interests you, and what your availability looks like. No formal application — a friendly email is plenty to start.
